Friend of the CGC
Giant Schnauzer Health Fund Becomes ‘Friend of the CGC’ in Memory of Beryl Cocks – Leebay
The life of Beryl Cocks (Leebay Giant Schnauzers) was celebrated on 20th June 2025, with donations in Beryl’s memory being passed to the Giant Schnauzer Health Fund. Donations reached an amazing £575 so far with still more to come, in addition Ferncliffe Schnauzers set up a regular donation of £5 per month to the Health Fund in Beryl’s memory too.
The Giant Schnauzer Health Fund will keep Beryl’s memory ongoing by being ‘A Friend of the CGC’ (Canine Genetics Centre for research into inherited diseases). The CGC already hold quite a few DNA samples for Giants and are already undertaking research into Idiopathic Epilepsy in the breed, and need regular donations to fund research and sample storage etc into the future.
As a ‘Friend of the CGC’ the health fund will make regular £5 per month donations in Beryl’s memory. This will support sample storage and research at the Canine Genetics Centre as well as the memorial donation that will support the health fund.
We would like to thank all the truly amazing people who supported the Giant Schnauzer Health Fund, and huge thanks to Beryl – Leebay Giant Schnauzers, Ferncliffe Schnauzers, and not forgetting special friend, Sue Sherborne, who orchestrated the health fund donation.
