{"id":2981,"date":"2025-06-19T19:10:05","date_gmt":"2025-06-19T18:10:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.giantschnauzerhealth.org.uk\/fund\/?p=2981"},"modified":"2025-06-28T23:32:46","modified_gmt":"2025-06-28T22:32:46","slug":"huu-approved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.giantschnauzerhealth.org.uk\/fund\/huu-approved\/","title":{"rendered":"HUU DNA Test Approved"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">*Kennel Club Approve HUU DNA Test*<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Kennel Club has officially approved the DNA testing scheme for hyperuricosuria (HUU) in the Giant Schnauzer, and have added the test to the\u00a0<strong>Breed Health Standard \u2018<em>Best Practice<\/em>\u2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you\u2019ve already had your Giant HUU DNA tested you can now send the results to the KC for officially recording.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Email test certificates to: <a href=\"mailto:health.results@thekennelclub.org.uk\">health.results@thekennelclub.org.uk<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Data from Laboklin shows 36% of Giant Schnauzers carry the HUU mutation<\/strong>, therefore it is important to test before breeding to know which dogs are carriers, and be able to breed safely.
